Getting Started as Badge Worker¶
Available to: Badge Worker
This guide is for users with the Badge Worker role. Badge Workers view their assigned jobs and post updates from the field.
Welcome to Hardhat Flow. As a Badge Worker, the app is simple: you see your jobs, check what needs to be done, and post updates as you go. This guide covers everything you need to know.
Your Jobs¶
When you log in, you will see a list of jobs you have been assigned to. That is your entire workspace — only your jobs, nothing else.
You only see the jobs you are assigned to.
If you cannot find a job you think you should be on, contact your Supervisor or Project Manager.
On each job you can see:
- The job name and location
- What the job involves
- Who else is assigned (your Supervisor and other workers)
- The current status of the job
- Updates and photos posted by the team
You cannot see:
- Bids or contract details
- Invoice or payment information
- Jobs belonging to other workers
If you access a Contact via a deep-link from a job, you can read the contact's Notes (door codes, on-site instructions, etc.), but you cannot edit them.
Posting an Update¶
Posting an update is how you tell your team what is happening on site. It takes about 30 seconds.
- Open the app and tap your job
- Scroll down to Updates
- Tap Post Update
- Type what you want to say — keep it short and clear
- Add photos if helpful (up to 10 at a time)
- Tap Submit
That is it. Your update shows up right away for your Supervisor, Project Manager, and Owner.
You cannot edit or delete an update after posting it.
Read your update before you submit it. Once it is posted, it stays.
Uploading Photos¶
Photos are a great way to document your work — before and after shots, issues you find, completed sections.
- You can upload up to 10 photos at a time
- Maximum 15MB per photo
- Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC (iPhone photos work fine)
Just tap Post Update, attach your photos, add a short note, and submit.
iPhone photos upload just fine.
HEIC photos from your iPhone are automatically converted. You do not need to change any settings on your phone.
If Something Goes Wrong on Site¶
If you run into a problem — missing equipment, unsafe conditions, something unexpected — post an update describing what you found and tell your Supervisor right away.
Your update creates a time-stamped record that helps the team respond quickly and protects everyone involved.
